Best place in Manchester for music and beer. Excellent music and fair prices. Good food and never a cover charge.
Rude Management

Below is an email to te Brew of our groups experience there:
"After growing up in northern NH and moving to Boston for college at 18, I was always mindful of how great the people of NH were. Living in Boston, I was quickly introduced to how rude and thoughtless so many people could be and it made me proud to know that I was from a state where this really wasn\'t the case. After visiting your establishment on Saturday, March 11, I guess I was mistaken. My girlfriend (age 24), roommate (age 25), and myself (age 26) traveled to Manchester to meet up with an old friend (age 27)of mine who lives in Portsmouth. We specifically chose your restaurant because I had heard great reviews of it. We drove 60 minutes and my friend drove 45. We were seated in your dining area and our waitress asked for our orders. After we ordered she asked us for our IDs. My girlfriend, also a NH native who is 24 years old, recently move to Massachusetts and had her license converted. In MA, the Registry of Motor Vehicles issues a temporary paper drivers license until the actual one is received. The following story is quoted to the best of my recollection that night. My girlfriend gave our waitress her temporary paper ID and curtly informed her of the following: \"We cannot accept this ID and since no one under 21 is allowed you have to leave.\" I was slightly taken aback by her curt response. First off, my girlfriend is 24 so this statement made little sense. The assumption that she was not of age because of a temporary license was totally baseless. Having made the trip up to NH we did not want to just get up and go so we politely asked if there was a way we could come to a resolution. We spoke to a nice bartender (with a shaved head, I do not remember his name) who informed us that we were all set as long as my girlfriend could produce other forms of identification. She gave him a social security card, a UNH picture ID, and Massachusetts and NH nursing licenses. He said we were all set and he would inform our waitress. We sat back down and five minutes later a heavy set women with curly blonde hair approached us. She did not give her name or position (this is why I gave her description in the last sentence) and simply walked up to us and stated \"We don\'t take these temporary IDs and since you are under 21 you have to leave. First off, if this lady was the manager (which I assume she was) a professional introduction was in order. Secondly, my girlfriend is not under 21, she is 24. This lady was treating us like we were trying to put one over on the restaurant. Now, after placing a call to the liquor commission today, I understand that in NH you do not have to accept these forms of ID. That is totally fine. It was the way in which we were treated that upset me the most. If anyone in our party was under 21 and trying to use a fake ID, would we really have pressed the issue to stay? Any logical individual would head out after the waitress told them the ID was not accepted. Why risk getting in trouble? However, \"the manager lady\" was very gruff with us and treated us like a bunch of college kids looking to score a drink. All we wanted was some food and a couple of beers. I am very disappointed in the way we were treated, especially when we were very polite throughout the whole ordeal. If we were informed in the following manner, I would be much more satisfied: \" Sorry folks, we cannot except this ID, it is our policy and we do not want to risk taking this ID in order to be in accordance with the liquor commission. We would like to have you back though so please feel free to return when you get your official license.\" How easy would that have been? Instead, we were given the rude, accusatory response from a lady who did not even give us her name or position. Suffice to say, I will not be coming back to Strange Brew and will inform others who I know in the area of our bad experience."
Next time, I will stay in Boston and go to the Big City with their 80 taps, keep your measly 40 Strange Brew and your fat ass manager.
